NOAA NCEP GFS Wave 0.25° global forecast

NOAA NCEP’s global GFS-Wave forecast couples Global Forecast System winds with WAVEWATCH III. The 0.25° product covers the world ocean on an approximately 25 km grid, runs four times daily and is distributed by Open-Meteo as hourly time series extending to 16 days. La Bouée uses this global grid where a more specific supported marine model is not selected and exposes wave height, period and direction at forecast locations. These are model values rather than buoy measurements. Interpolation cannot restore unresolved coastal geometry or bathymetry, and later forecast hours carry greater uncertainty.
