Côte des Basques buoy: live swell
The Côte des Basques is the long beach below the cliffs of Biarritz, where surfing in France began in the late 1950s. It works best at low tide: at high tide the sea comes right up to the sea wall. The Candhis buoy off Anglet, 7 km away, shows the swell reaching the Basque coast, and the Saint-Jean-de-Luz buoy covers the south.
